Tokyo | The head coach of the Indian womens hockey team, Sjoerd Marijne asked Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan if there can be a part 2 of his hit movie ‘Chak de India!’ on Friday.

Shah Rukh, who played the role of hockey coach Kabir Khan in the 2007 film, took to Twitter after India’s heart-breaking 4-3 loss to Great Britain in the bronze medal match at the Tokyo Olympics, saying that the team has all the reasons to hold their spirits high.

“Heartbreak!!! But all reasons to hold our heads high. Well played Indian Women’s Hockey Team. You all inspired everyone in India. That itself is a victory,” he tweeted.

Quote-tweeting SRK’s post, Marijne wrote on the social media platform, “Thank you SRK for all the love! It’s great to have support from the best in Bollywood. It’s time for Chak De part 2, what say (smiling face with smiling eyes emoji)?”

Earlier, the 57-year-old Dutchman had tweeted, “We did not win a medal, but I think we have won something bigger. We have made Indians proud again and we inspired millions of girls that dreams CAN come true as long as you work hard for it and believe it! Thanks for all the support! (Flag of India).”

India went down to 2016 Rio Olympics gold medallists Great Britain in a closely-fought bronze medal playoff at the Oi Hockey Stadium despite making a comeback from a two-goal deficit.

India was in the lead at the half-time 3-2. But Great Britain came back in the second half to deny Rani Rampal & Co. their first medal in their third appearance at the Olympics.

In the Tokyo Olympics, India stunned everyone by making it to the semi-finals for the first time by beating world No. 2 Australia 1-0 in the quarterfinal after coming fourth in the group stages.

They went down to Argentina 2-1 in the semi-finals before losing a close match to Great Britain for the bronze medal.
