Union Minister Smriti Irani in her poll affidavit has admitted that she is not a graduate. The affidavit submitted by Irani to the Election Commission on Thursday states that she did not complete her graduation from the Delhi University.
Smriti who is contesting against Congress President Rahul Gandhi from Amethi mentioned in her affidavit that she passed secondary school examination in 1991 and senior secondary school examination in 1993.
She has said that she did not complete her Bachelor Of Commerce (Part-1) – a three year degree course – from Delhi University’s School of Open Learning in 1994.
According to PTI, Smriti had reportedly said that she had graduated from the University in 1994. This had triggered a controversy. The opposition had raised a question mark over Smriti’s educational quaification and had claimed that she was not a graduate.
