For the employees of Hare Krishna Exports, Diwali is a much awaited festival for the fact that their employer gives out expensive gifts to them. Surat based diamond merchant Savji Dholakia who is famously known as Savji Kaka in diamond circles, will on Thursday gift cars to his 600 employees as Diwali gift during a ceremony in Surat. A few others among the employees will be gifted with flats and fixed deposits. The employees will be rewarded under ‘Skill India Incentive Ceremony’.
Sources said that the firm employees will receive either Maruti Suzuki Alto or Maruti Suzuki Celerio cars as Diwali gift. In all 1,600 employees have been shortlisted for receiving Diwali gift from the diamond firm. The diamond polishers had a choice to opt their gift from amongst cars, flats or fixed deposits.
According to Indian Express, around 4,000 of company’s 5,500 employees have received such gifts as Diwali bonus.
Speaking to Indian Express recently, Savji Dholakia had said, “This year the company had shortlisted around 1,600 diamond polishers who performed well. We wanted to give them incentives. Thus, whoever was interested in car will receive cars and rest will be given Fixed Deposits or Flats. This is an effort to motivate them to perform even better in the future.”
Savji owns Hare Krishna Exports Private Limited which is a diamond manufacturing and exporting company and has an annual turnover of Rs 6,000 crore. Savji had started this ‘loyalty programme’ for employees in 2011 and since then he has been rewarding his employees with cars, flats and other expensive gifts.
