Bengaluru : Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy on Wednesday accused the BJP of offering Rs 100 crore and cabinet posts to its newly elected legislators in a “desperate” attempt to form a government in Karnataka.

Addressing a press conference after JD(S) party meeting, Kumaraswamy said, “JD(S) MLAs are being offered Rs 100 crore each and cabinet berths in return for support. Where is the black money coming from? Where are the income tax officials?”

He named Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah for the offer as the BJP was desperate to form a government and deny the JD-S a chance to form a government with Congress backing

The JD-S and Congress together have the required majority to form the government, he said.

He also said that he along with State Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President (G Parameshwara) would once again be meeting Governor on Wednesday evening to urge him to give them a chance to form the government as they have the majority of MLAs
