Air Force does not count casualties, counts targets hit: IAF Chief

Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa on Monday said that Air Force does not count casualty numbers, the government does that. He said that Air Force counts what targets have been hit or not. He also said that IAF was not in a position to clarify the number of casualties.

“We hit our target. The Air Force does not calculate casualty numbers, the government does that. We do not count human casualties, we count what targets have been hit or not”, Dhanoa said in reply to a question on the number of casualties in the recent air strikes by India on a JeM camp in Pakistan’s Balakot.

IAF Chief was interacting with media in Coimbatore where he made the said statement.

“If we plan to hit the target, we hit the target, otherwise why would he (Pakistan PM) have responded, if we dropped bombs in the jungles why would he respond”, news agency ANI quoted him as saying.
