Sahibganj Road Accident: Four Dead, Including Schoolgirl; Five Injured

Sahibganj (Jharkhand) | A tragic collision between a passenger auto-rickshaw and an oil tanker on Friday claimed four lives, including that of a young schoolgirl, and left five others seriously injured.
The accident occurred near the Chhota Ranga Dand Bridge turn on the Barhet–Barharwa main road. Eyewitnesses reported that the auto was travelling from Barhet towards Barharwa, while the tanker was coming from the opposite direction. The passengers in the auto were headed to Dahujore Chowk but met with the fatal crash before reaching their destination.
Among the deceased were Samra Sah (30) of Bara Ranga village, Randani Soren (30) of Ghatiyari village, six-year-old student Shanti Hembram of Dahujore, and the auto driver Amal Kumar. Police confirmed that three victims died on the spot, while the driver succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Local residents rushed the injured to nearby health centers, where several remain in critical condition.
Following the incident, anger erupted over alleged negligence in medical care. Agitated locals vandalized the Community Health Center at Patna in Ranga. Law enforcement, led by Barharwa SDPO Nitin Khandelwal along with Ranga and Barharwa police, intervened to restore order and initiated an investigation. Authorities have taken the bodies into custody for post-mortem examinations, while the exact cause of the accident is under investigation.
