Reunited after 12 days, Navneet Rana bursts into tears upon meeting her husband Ravi Rana at Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital

Mumbai | Independent MP Navneet Kaur Rana was released from Byculla women’s prison on Thursday. Navneet and her legislator husband Ravi Rana were granted bail by a Mumbai session court on Wednesday.

Soon after the release, Navneet was rushed to Lilavati hospital in Bandra as she complained of back pain. She was admitted therein.

Ravi was also released from Taloja jail in Raigad district where he was lodged for 12 days. After his release, he reached Lilavati hospital and met his wife Navneet. The two became emotional upon meeting.

Navneet burst into tears on meeting her husband. Ravi then consoled and pampered her. These moments got captured in the lenses.

The Ranas were arrested from their home on April 23 after they threatened to go to ‘Matoshri’, the private residence of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in Bandra East, to chant ‘Hanuman Chalisa’.

Their plan led to massive tensions as their supporters and Shiv Sena activists prepared for a conflict even as the Mumbai Police deployed heavy security.

Though the couple later withdrew their plan in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mumbai the following day (April 24), the police slapped various charges, including sedition, on them. The couple was remanded to 14-day judicial custody.
