Noida : 11-year-old girl detained for allegedly stealing gold and cash for buying toys

An 11-year-old minor girl has been detained by Noida police for allegedly stealing cash and valuables worth around Rs 1.5 lakhs from a house in Sector 45. The girl, reportedly has admitted to have committed the crime as she wanted to buy toys. The theft took place on Monday.

The police was apprised about the matter by complainant Rajkumar Sharma. The girl according to police, is a daughter of an auto-rickshaw driver. The complainant told police that he had left the door of the his flat open while he visited a house in the neighbourhood as he was to return very soon.




But when he returned, he said that he found four gold rings and cash Rs 65,000 missing. The CCTV camera installed near the gate showed girl entering the house and coming out with valuables, Sharma told police. Sharma then spotted the girl next day and informed the police.

TOI quoted SHO of Sector 39 police station, Uday Pratap Singh as saying, “The girl told police that a woman took all stolen items fand cash from her and gave her Rs 500 in lieu of it.”
