UP Police registers FIR against five Muslim female students for “coercing” Hindu student into wearing burqa

 

Moradabad | In a startling case of alleged religious coercion, the Moradabad Police have booked five Muslim students for reportedly forcing a Class 12 Hindu girl to wear a burqa and pressuring her to convert to Islam. The incident, which has sparked significant concern in the Bilari Kotwali area, came to light after the victim’s brother filed a formal complaint, leading to an immediate investigation into the alleged attempts at conversion.

The incident reportedly took place outside a coaching center located in the Sahu Kunj neighborhood of the Bilari Kotwali area. Recently, CCTV footage from outside the coaching center surfaced, showing five students in burqas allegedly putting a burqa on a Class 12 Hindu student. The matter gained traction after the CCTV footage came to light, prompting the victim’s family to lodge a police complaint.

In the FIR filed by the family, it is alleged that the students involved did not stop at making her wear a burqa but were also trying to entice and coerce her into converting to Islam.

The victim’s brother stated that his sister was subjected to intense mental pressure. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, police took immediate action by registering a case against the five named students under relevant sections and initiating a probe.

The police stated that the investigation is being conducted based on the CCTV footage, the victim’s statement, and other evidences. Further legal proceedings will follow once the investigation is complete.
