A massive fire broke out in Metro hospital in Noida’s sector 12 on Thursday morning. Over a dozen fire tenders were pressed into action to douse the inferno.
The patients who were admitted in the hospital were shifted to the other hospitals in the vicinity. Several ambulances took turns to shift the patients.
There were no reports of any casualties. The cause of the fire is not known yet.
A major portion of the hospital was engulfed in thick smoke. The firemen in order to save patients and their attendants from choking, broke window panes. Highrise ladders were used by firemen to reach close to the third and fourth floor of the hospital to break the window panes.
The rescue operation is underway.
