Lost trust in CBSE, say protesting students
New Delhi : Expressing their anger over the paper leak incident, students held protests here at the CBSE office, contending that they have “lost trust” in the board.
Raising slogans, around 50-70 students, protesting since 7 a.m., blocked the road outside the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officer for a brief period till police came and forced them to disperse.
“We just need to be assured that the subsequent papers will not be leaked. We have heard from several students that question papers of Hindi and Political Science (to be held next week) have also been leaked and are circulating on WhatsApp,” Aman, a class 12 student from Rohini, told IANS.
“We have lost trust in the CBSE completely and we want the chairperson to conduct a meeting with the students and assure them of absolute guarantee against the paper leak,” he said.
After the students blocked the traffic during their protest, officials of Delhi Police also counseled some of them and tried to calm their temper.
Unorganised and leaderless, the students took their protest to Jantar Mantar in the afternoon.
However, after confrontation between the SSC candidates, already protesting over a range of issues) and police, the latter forced them to vacate the site.
“We will hold a candle march tomorrow (Sunday) evening. We won’t let up till we are heard,” a student of Delhi Public School said.
