New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday questioned Union Home Minister Amit Shah over Sharjeel Imam moving free even two days after he said Assam should be separated from the country.
Sharjeel Imam, one of the organisers of the anti-CAA protest in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, in a video, is seen talking about splitting the northeast from India to block the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Kejriwal’s remarks came after Shah asked the Delhi Chief Minister to make his stand clear if he favours the action against Sharjeel Imam or not.
Kejriwal in return accused Shah of indulging in “dirty politics”.
“Sharjeel spoke about separating Assam from the country. It is very serious. You are the Home Minister of the country. This statement of yours is bad politics. It is your duty that you arrest him immediately. It has been two days since he said this. Why are you not arresting him? What is your helplessness? Or you want to do more dirty politics,” Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.
