JEE (Advanced) 2018 on Sunday : IITKanpur advises candidates to wear slippers, sandals

The IITKanpur which is conducting JEE (Advanced) on Sunday (May 20) has put in place tough measures to hold the test. For this the students appearing in the exam would undergo a thorough frisking.
According to the press statement released by IITKanpur, candidates have been instructed to report at the exam centre before 7.30 am on the day of the exam (May 20) and co-operate with the staff for physical frisking. The first shift of the exam would be held from 9 am to 12 pm and from 2 to 5 pm on the same day.
The candidates have been instructed to present a downloaded Admit Card for verification at the examination centre/hall. They have also been advised to check for discrepancies in the Admit Card if any and bring the same into the notice of Chairman, JEE (Advanced) 2018.
The documents that the candidates are required to bring to the exam centre include Prinout of the Downloaded Admit Card and atleast one original photo identity card such as Aadhaar card, school/college ID, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport and PAN Card.
Candidates appearing for the JEE (Advanced) examination will not be allowed to carry smart, digital, programmable watches, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers, health bands or any other electronic gadgets. They may, however, wear simple analog watches.
Any printed, blank, handwritten paper, log table, writing pad, scale, geometry and pencil box, broach, hair pin, hair band, pouch, calculator, pen drives, electronic pens, wallet, handbags, goggles or similar things are not allowed inside the examination hall, the release said.
After the entry of the candidates at the exam centre, biometric registration/verification will be done before the commencement of both paper 1 and Paper 2. The candidates are required to take their assigned seat in the examination hall by 7.45 am for Paper 1 and by 12.45 pm for Paper 2.
Candidates have been advised to come in open footwear like chappals (slippers) and sandals. Clothes with full sleeves or with big buttons would not be allowed.
Candidates have also been instructed not to wear charm/tabeez, items containing metals such as ring, nose pin, bracelet, ear rings, hair pin, hair band. They have also been asked to wear open footwear like chappals and sandals.
Violation of any of the rules and regulations at any stage of the examination will lead to cancellation of the candidature.
