India’s nuclear policy of ‘No First Use’ may change in future, hints Rajnath Singh – 1 min read

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that India has strictly adhered to the doctrine of ‘No First Use’ of Nuclear power but what happens in future depends on the circumstances.
Singh made the statement on micro-blogging site Twitter. He was in Pokhran to pay respects to late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his first death anniversary.
He said, “Pokhran is the area which witnessed Atal Ji’s firm resolve to make India a nuclear power.”

He also said that India attaining the status of a responsible nuclear nation became a matter of national pride for every citizen of this country. The nation will remain indebted to the greatness of Atal Ji.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee died on August 16 in 2018 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after a prolonged illness. He was 93.
