IITKanpur Director tests positive for COVID-19, admitted in hospital

Kanpur: The latest to test positive for Covid-19 is Director, IITKanpur, Prof Abhay Karandikar. He is being admitted to the Max Super Speciality Hospital in New Delhi. The confirmation in this regard was made by IITKanpur on Tuesday evening.

“Director of IIT Kanpur, Professor Abhay Karandikar had developed mild fever two days back. On the advice of the Institute Medical Officer, he underwent a swab test and has tested positive for COVID-19. As a precautionary measure, and on the advice of the doctors, he is being admitted to the Max Super Speciality Hospital in New Delhi. Prof. Abhay Karandikar is otherwise keeping well”, said Deputy Director, Professor S. Ganesh.
