Husband No. 3 Eliminated: Woman Plots Murder on Highway to Clear Way for 4th Marriage!
NARSINGHPUR (MADHYA PRADESH) : A sensational crime that has tarnished the sanctity of relationships has emerged from the Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh. A woman stands accused of orchestrating the brutal murder of her third husband in collusion with her alleged paramour. According to the police, the woman was planning to marry her lover—which would be her fourth marriage—and the duo hatched a chilling conspiracy to eliminate the husband. Unraveling the plot, the police have arrested the accused wife, her paramour, and an accomplice.
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Kotwali police station in Narsinghpur. Police stated that on the intervening night of June 27 and 28, the accused, Saroj Mehra, a resident of Hanuman Ward, murdered her husband, Tulsiram, with the help of her lover, Mahendra Mehra, and his associate, Vishnu. As the police began investigating the blind murder case, several shocking details unfolded layer by layer.
Eliminating the Third Husband for a Fourth Marriage
According to the police investigation, the accused woman, Saroj Mehra, first married in 2004. Sometime later, she left her first husband and married a second time. Following the demise of her second husband, she entered into her third marriage with Tulsiram in 2006. In the meantime, she developed an illicit relationship with a local youth named Mahendra Mehra. The police maintained that this extramarital affair ultimately led to the gruesome murder.
Accused Wife Claims Innocence
On the other hand, the accused woman, Saroj Mehra, has claimed complete innocence. She contends that her lover executed the murder entirely on his own because he wanted to be with her, alleging that he deceitfully put her husband to death. Saroj maintained that she was at home when the crime took place. However, the police have categorically stated that the involvement of all three accused stands firmly established through technical evidence and rigorous interrogation.
Failure to Report Disappearance Triggered Suspicion
Disclosing details of the case, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rishikesh Meena stated that even after her husband suddenly went missing, the wife neither lodged a missing person report with the police for three days nor made any attempt to search for him. According to the police, this very conduct raised red flags during the initial probe. Subsequent intensive interrogation coupled with digital forensics successfully exposed the entire conspiracy.
Strangled on the Highway Under the Pretext of a Feast
As per the plot, the woman’s lover, Mahendra Mehra, invited Tulsiram to National Highway 44 (NH-44) under the pretext of hosting a feast. He then lured him towards the roadside bushes, where Tulsiram was strangled to death with a rope. The perpetrators fled the scene after committing the crime. The SP added that the rope used in the murder and the mobile phones have been recovered during the investigation.
Currently, the police have sent Saroj Mehra, her alleged paramour Mahendra Mehra, and his associate Vishnu behind bars. A case of murder has been registered against the trio, and further legal proceedings are underway.
