Husband loses wife in a game of ‘gamble’, watches her getting raped

In a shocking incident, a man in Odisha’s Balasore district allegedly gambled away his wife and witnessed her getting raped after he lost her in the game, officials said on Thursday.
The police are in lookout for the man who is absconding.
According to Hindustan Times, Balasore SP Jugal Kishore Banoth said that a case has been lodged after the woman got a complaint registered with Baliapal police on Wednesday.
Banoth was quoted as saying by the daily that they have formed teams to arrest the husband of the victim as well as the man who sexually assaulted her.
The woman had alleged that late on May 23 her husband, asked her to accompany him to the village pond where their neighbour Abhiram Dalai was waiting. It was here Dalai sexually assaulted the woman in front of her husband and threatened her of not disclosing the crime to anyone.
The victim later narrated her ordeal to her parents.
