Noida: Heavy rainfall lashed Delhi-NCR for at least four hours early on Thursday morning, leaving majority of areas in Noida and Delhi waterlogged. Traffic movement was completely thrown out of gear as most of the areas were submerged in the water.

Commuters faced problems at Indrapuram and Vaishali. Waterlogging was also reported from areas around Patpatganj, Pandav Nagar, Mayur Vihar Phase- I and Phase-II.

Due to extensive rainfall, traffic congestion was also witnessed in several localities of Noida Sector 55, 56, 58, 61 and 62.

The first heavy shower of this ongoing monsoon season left commuters stranded on their way to workplaces. It gave an impression that entire Noida was flooded with rain water.

Dozens of traffic police personnel had to be deployed to regulate traffic but condition remained the same for hours.

Residents of sectors 61, 62, 55, 56 and Harola market had to wade through water in their areas. “I wanted to go to Sector 58 from Sector 62, but was caught in the rain and got completely drenched. I had to wade through water to reach home,” said Sunil Jagia, a local of Sector 62 in Noida.
