Gurugram tests woman tests Covid-19 positive; Haryana’s first case

Chandigarh: A 29-year-old woman in Haryana’s Gurugram who has travel history to Malaysia and Indonesia tested positive for coronavirus, a top health official said on Tuesday. Her condition is stable.
The woman works for an Gurugram-based information technology company.
“This is the first positive case of the coronavirus in Haryana,” state Director General of Health Suraj Bhan Kamboj told the media.
The woman has been admitted to a hospital in Gurugram and her condition is stable, he said.
Her throat swabs sent to the Pune-based National Institute of Virology confirmed her positive for coronavirus.
She was earlier in home isolation and developed symptoms on March 12.
Earlier, she was kept in isolation ward in the Civil Hospital from where she has been shifted to Fortis Health Care Hospital.
The government said her office has been disinfected and other contacts have been put on surveillance as per protocol and all of them are asymptomatic.
In Haryana, 3,120 people have been kept under observation.
The government said 38 people have been admitted out of which 31 were discharged but still under surveillance at home.
Seventy samples have been sent out of which 61 found negative for COVID-19.
