Gurugram crosses 200-mark on Sunday with 11 new COVID-19 cases

Gurugram: Coronavirus cases continued to rise in Gurugram with 11 new cases reported on Sunday as the total tally reached 204.

Majority of the cases appeared in areas under containment zones. A doctor of Gurugram civil hospital was also found corona positive on Sunday.

Authority said that the total active cases in the city are 100 and they are isolated in different hospitals. 104 patients successfully recuparated from the infection and were discharged from hospital.

Two cases appeared in Ravi Nagar locality and one each in Sector 9a, Sector 48, sector 55, Sector 10A, Sector 18, Sushant Lok phase 1, Mullahera, Khandsa road and Shakti Park in the city.

J.S. Punia, Civil Surgeon, Gurugram said: “Three cases in Sushant Lok, Sector 55 and sector 48 are fresh cases, while remaining came under contact with high risk positive cases detected earlier.”

“They have been isolated in different government and private hospitals of the district and their houses declared as quarantine homes. Their family members were asked to stay inside for 21 days,” Punia said.

Apart from Covid positive patients, 60 persons are under close surveillance by health officials in different quarantine facilities.

Gurugram district administration has taken samples of 9,801 suspected persons and 9,373 were negative while reports of 224 suspects are still awaited.

Gurugram currently has 35 containment zones.
