Golden jackal rescued in Agra
Agra : A female golden jackal was found trapped in an eight-feet deep dry pool in the Cantonment area here on Thursday, following which it was rescued and released back into the wild.
The about six-year-old jackal was spotted trying to escape from the pool, where a fountain has been installed. The officers on duty called up Wildlife SOS for help.
A three-member team rescued the jackal later.
Kartick Satyanarayan, co-founder & CEO Wildlife SOS, said: “Finding a jackal in urban areas is uncommon but not rare. Habitat loss, rampant encroachment and human activities are forcing animals to move out of their natural habitat.”
