Godman Daati Maharaj booked on rape charges

A case has been registered by Delhi police against self-styled godman Daati Maharaj for allegedly raping his disciple. Daati is founder of famous Shani Dham temple in Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri area.

The case has been lodged under sections 376, 377, 354 and 34 of IPC. The police have started investigation into the matter.
According to news agency ANI, the woman has alleged that she was sexually assaulted inside Shani Dham two years ago.
The woman further alleged that because of fear she could not gather courage to file a complaint earlier.
