Girl sexually harassed, threatened with acid attack in UP’s Muzaffarnagar

A girl student in UP’s Muzaffarnagar was allegedly sexually harassed by a youth who also threatened to throw acid on her when she turned down his marriage proposal, news agency PTI quoted police as saying.

The incident took place on Saturday under the limits of Civil Lines police station. The Muzaffarnagar police have lodged a case in this case after receiving a complaint from the girl’s family and have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.

PTI quoted a police official as saying that according to the complaint made by the girl’s family, the youth, Shakir Ali forced the girl to marry him and when she turned down the proposal, the accused sexually harassed her and threatened to throw acid on her.
