Delhi : Mosque caretaker nabbed with live bullet while visiting Kejriwal

A caretaker of a local mosque was nabbed carrying a live bullet while visiting Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during Janta Darbar on Monday morning. Only Six days ago, a middle aged-man had thrown chilli powder at the Chief Minister at Delhi Secretariat. The recovery of the .32 bore live cartridge brought the cops on their toes.

A case under the Arms Act has been registered against the man identified as 39-year-old Mohd Imran. He had come to Janta Darbar with 12 other Imams to demand an increase in salaries of the Delhi Waqf board staff.




Hindustan Times quoted Additional Deputy Commissioner Of Police (North) Harendra Singh as saying, “The .32 bore live cartridge was recovered from his purse during search and frisking by the security staff of CM’s residence.”

He said that Imran is a resident of Loni in Ghaziabad and works as a caretaker of the Masjid Bawli Wali in Karol Bagh.

Imran claimed before police that he had found the bullet in the donation box of the mosque two-three days ago and had kept it in his purse. Later he forgot about the bullet.

Earlier on November 20, a man had thrown chilli powder on Kejriwal while he was leaving his office at the Delhi Secretariat. The man was nabbed. He was identified as Anil Kumar Sharma.
