Criminals loot Rs.3 lakh from Ghaziabad trader, shoot at him
Ghaziabad: Armed criminals on Monday shot at a vegetable trader and robbed him of Rs 3 lakh and his mobile phone when he was on his way to the market with his father, police said.
The incident took place in the morning near Vasundhara Link Road in the Indirapuram Police Station area of the city.
The police said Pawan Kumar Sharma and his father Ved Prakash Sharma, residents of Chiranjiv Vihar here, run a vegetable firm.
While they were on their way to the Sahibabad vegetable market, their car was overtaken by criminals in a Swift car who forced their driver to stop their car.
The criminals jumped out of their vehicle and snatched the keys of the traders’ car at gun point, looted the bag containing the cash and the mobile phone and smashed the front windscreen with an iron rod.
When Pawan tried to resist the robbers, one of them opened fire at him, leaving him injured, and managed to flee with the booty.
Pawan has been admitted in a nearby hospital.
His father Ved Prakash Sharma told the police that the bag also contained some important documents related to their business.
He has lodged a complaint with the police.
“We have set up police teams and will work out the case shortly,” said Superintendent of Police (City) Akash Tomar.
