COVID 19: Foot operated hand wash system developed by National Sugar Institute-Kanpur
Kanpur: It has rightly been said ‘Necessity Is Mother Of Invention’ and in the existing COVID times, National Sugar Institute (NSI), Kanpur has developed a foot operated hand wash system.
This wash system helps people avoid any contact with the tap and the soap dispenser. This system is operated using legs.
Director, NSI, Prof Narendra Mohan informed that this hand wash system has been developed in the institute’s experimental sugar factory using scrap. He said that there are two separate levers in this machine of which one dispenses liquid soap and the other discharges water.
He further said that this system would be installed at all student hostels before the start of the next academic session.
He also mentioned that this device has been designed by Sanjay Chauhan who is Assistant Professor in the Sugar engineering department of the institute.
