New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education on Wednesday filed a complaint with Delhi Police over rumour-mongering on exam paper leak, a top board official said, adding action has been initiated against certain unscrupulous persons.

“The Board has taken cognizance of anti-social elements having uploaded fake claims about making available CBSE question papers. These The aspirants have been to asked pay an amount for these papers. Fake videos are also being uploaded on YouTube claiming leakage of question papers, misguiding the students as well as their parents,” said CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi.

He said the Board is vigilant and active in identifying unscrupulous persons and initiating legal action against them for spreading fake news and rumours. “The Board is equally tough against those who are filing baseless complaints,” said Tripathi.

The Board has written to the Special Cell of Delhi Police urging it to act against those who are creating panic among students and general public.

Meanwhile, the CBSE has appealed to students and their parents not to believe in unverified information and help in maintaining the sanctity of the examination system.
