BSF, Pakistan Rangers agree to peace on international border
Jammu : India’s Border Security Force (BSF) and the Pakistan Rangers on Friday agreed to maintain peace and tranquility on the international border in Jammu and Kashmir, an official statement said.
The decision was taken at Sector Commander Level Flag meeting held on the border in Suchetgarh area of Jammu, a BSF statement said.
“The BSF delegation comprising of nine officers was led by P.S. Dhiman, DIG BSF Jammu Sector, while Brigadier Amjad Hussain, Sector Commander, Sialkot, Punjab led the Pakistan delegation which comprised of 11 officers.
“During the meeting, general day to day border management issues were discussed. While reiterating BSF’s commitment towards maintaining peace and tranquility on the International border, BSF officials sought Paki stan Rangers’ cooperation for the same which was agreed by them,” the statement said, adding that the meeting concluded “in a cordial atmosphere”.
