Bomb Threat on IndiGo Flight Forces Emergency Landing in Lucknow

Lucknow | Panic gripped passengers on Sunday after a bomb threat was reported on an IndiGo flight travelling from Delhi to Bagdogra. As a precautionary measure, flight 6E 6650 was diverted and it made an emergency landing at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow.

According to officials, the aircraft had departed from Delhi for Bagdogra when the pilot received information about a possible bomb threat mid-air. The pilot immediately alerted Air Traffic Control (ATC), following which it was decided to divert the flight to Lucknow in the interest of passenger safety.

Upon arrival, strict security measures were put in place. The aircraft was surrounded by security personnel and teams from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the bomb disposal squad and other agencies rushed to the spot. All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft. Passengers were thoroughly screened and their baggage was subjected to detailed inspection.

There was brief tension at the airport during the security operation, but authorities ensured the situation remained under control. Passengers were shifted to a safe area and provided necessary assistance.

Security agencies conducted a comprehensive search of the aircraft, including the seats, cockpit, baggage compartments and cargo hold. Preliminary checks did not reveal any suspicious object. However, the investigation is continuing to ensure complete safety.

The incident caused temporary disruption in flight operations at the airport. Airport officials stated that passenger safety remains the top priority and that all standard security protocols were strictly followed.

Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the source of the threat. Officials confirmed that no suspicious material was found on board and said efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the person responsible for the false alarm.
