Life Imprisonment for Man Who Raped Biological Mother; Court Terms Crime ‘Rarest of Rare’

Bareilly (UP) | A Fast Track Court (FTC) in Bareilly has delivered a landmark judgment in a deeply harrowing case that shook the conscience of the local community. Additional Sessions Judge Ashok Kumar Yadav sentenced the convict, Kishanlal, to life imprisonment for raping his biological mother, categorizing the offense as ‘Rarest of Rare.’

The Incident
The sensational crime took place on the night of October 10, 2021, in Mazhara village under the Bhamora police station limits. According to court records, the convict approached his mother’s house late at night under the pretext of being hungry. As soon as the victim opened the door and offered him food, Kishanlal strangled her and threatened her life before brutally assaulting and raping her.

Capture and Prosecution
The victim displayed immense courage following the ordeal. She managed to contact her other two sons who were working as laborers elsewhere. The brothers rushed home immediately, apprehended their sibling, and handed him over to the police on October 12, 2021.

Over the course of a four-year legal battle, Special Public Prosecutor Suresh Babu Sahu presented eight witnesses and robust forensic evidence. The prosecution successfully argued that the convict had not only violated the law but had also decimated the moral fabric of society.

Court Verdict
Delivering the verdict, Judge Ashok Kumar Yadav (III) observed that the act was exceptionally heinous and deserved the strictest possible punishment. The court convicted Kishanlal under Sections 376 (Rape) and 506 (Criminal Intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

In addition to the life sentence, the court imposed a fine of ₹20,000. Following the pronouncement of the judgment, the convict was immediately escorted to the Bareilly District Jail to serve his sentence.
