Astonishing ! Youngest person to give birth was Five years, Seven months and 21 days old

Astonishing, the youngest person on record to give birth to a baby was only Five years, Seven months and 21 days old. Lina Medina of Peru who became pregnant at the age of Five, later gave birth to a baby boy on May 14, 1939.

Lina’s parents came to know about her pregnancy after her abdomen began growing. She had then complained of stomach aches. Initially when Lina had a growing stomach, doctors thought it to be a tumor but tests confirmed that she was Seven months pregnant.

It is almost 80 years on, Lina is still the youngest person in the world to have ever given birth, The Sun reported.

While Lina is now 84 years of age, her son Gerardo who grew up healthy, died at the age of 40 in 1979. He suffered a bone disease.

The Sun reported that her case has often been considered as a hoax but doctors claim they have x-rays and biopsies that prove that she really was pregnant.

Lina’s father was arrested on suspicion of child sexual abuse but had to be released later by the police due to lack of an evidence. The biological father who impregnated Lina was never identified. Even Lima has never revealed the identity of Gerardo’s father.

However, when Lina gave birth to the baby by a caesarean section, the doctor discovered that despite being five years old, she had mature sexual organs and suffered from a condition called ‘Precocious Puberty’.
