Accused of sexual harassment, senior executive of top firm ends life

A senior executive working in Genpact India, allegedly killed himself at his home in Noida on Tuesday following allegations of sexual harassment. He had been suspended from his job over sexual harassment allegations. According to the suicide note, man termed the allegations to be false.
According to police, 35-year-old man was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his house.
Hindustan Times quoted police as saying that the body of the man was discovered by his wife around 11.30 pm and the purported suicide note explained why he took the extreme step.
Reportedly, two female employees had accused the man of sexual misconduct after which the company suspended him pending investigation. He was barred from participating in any official work till investigation was not complete.
The man had denied the accusations.
According to the suicide note, the man said his reputation was tarnished.
Station House Officer, Surajpur, Manish Chauhan said that the man wrote in his note that even if he is proven innocent, his reputation has been tarnished.
Confirming that the executive was suspended, a spokesperson for Genpact said, “It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the news of an employee’s untimely death. Our heart goes out to his family at this tragic time.”
He added that the employee had been temporarily suspended after allegations were levelled.
Police said that they are yet to receive any complaint from the man’s family.
