2 killed as illegal firecracker stockpile explodes in Lucknow
Lucknow : Atleast two people were dead in an explosion in a house in Kakori area in Lucknow on Monday. Several others were left injured. The blast was so powerful that the two storeyed building came crumbling down. Adjoining houses were also damaged in the blast.
It appeared to police that the occupant of the house was running an illegal cracker unit. News agency IANS reported that the incident occured when firecracker stockpile exploded. Rescue operations are underway as a few persons are feared trapped inside the two-storeyed house.

Times Of India reported that the blast was so powerful that its echo was heard by the locals in the radius of 500 meters.
Police personnel had reached the spot and the rescue operation had started.
Owner of the house Sajay Lodhi told the police that he had rented the house to Naseer and his son Mushir. He said he was unaware that they were involved in illegal manufacturing of firecrackers.
According to the police, the bodies were blown into pieces, as a result their identity could not be ascertained. Villagers told police officers that Naseer and his wife were present in the house at the time of explosion.
