3 employees of Paytm arrested for blackmailing company founder and CEO for Rs 20 crore

Three Paytm employees including company’s founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s secretary were arrested on Monday for allegedly trying to extort Rs 20 crore from Sharma. A fourth accused in the case is on the run.

The three were blackmailing Sharma that they would leak the stolen personal data and confidential information.




According to news agency ANI, “3 Paytm employees were arrested in Noida on Monday for allegedly trying to extort Rs 20 crore from owner Vijay Sharma.”

Police said that they had stolen some data and were blackmailing Sharma and demanding Rs 20 crore from him for not leaking it. One of the accused in the matter is a woman.

Police said that they are investigating the matter. An FIR has been registered in the case.

Paytm is headquartered in Noida and it is e-commerce and wallet firm.
