16 new cases, 11 more containment zones in Gurugram

Gurugram: The district authorities, here on Saturday, reported 16 new Covid-19 cases taking the tally to 144. of this, 78 active cases are being treated at different hospitals.

In the last four days, 55 cases have been reported. On Friday, 9 new cases were reported, on Thursday 13 and on Wednesday 17.

Of the new cases, 5 are in Dundehera village, 2 in Basai enclave, 3 linked to the Khandsa Anaj mandi, and one case each from Aardee city, Sarhaul, IMT Maneser and sector 18 and one health worker from Sohna and another associated with Asian Hospital Faridabad.

Two of the infected persons are relatives of the Delhi Police personnel residing in Dundehera and Basai.

“These persons came in contact with Covid-19 patients. Their houses have been declared a quarantine home and the family members have neem asked to stay in for 21 days. The patients are isolated in different government and private hospitals,” said JS Punia, Cvil Surgeon of Gurugram.

Gurugram District Magistrate Amit Khatri said 11 new containment zones had been declared in the Gurugram block and 2 each in Sohna and Pataudi blocks. There are 25 containment zones in the district.

Three containment zones — Sun City sector 54, Devi Lal Colony and Palam Vihar Block C — were declared clean by the review committee on Saturday after no fresh cases were reported in the last 28 days.

The 11 new containment zones are Ashok Vihar, Islampur village, Kadipur enclave, Surat Nagar, Khandsa road vegitable market area, Shakti Nagar, Anand garden, Krishna nagar, Jyoti Park and Baldev Nagar.
