Ranchi: A 55-year-old woman was killed on suspicion of practising black magic in Jharkhands Latehar district on Saturday, police said.
According to police, the victim Sohbatia Devi was hacked to death by her nephew Ajay Oraon at Mandhania village of Latehar district, around 140 Km from Ranchi.

“On Saturday Ajay hacked her aunt to death. He was later arrested. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Further, investigation is on,” said Prabhakar Munda, officer in charge of Manika police station.

In Jharkhand more than 700 people have been killed on charges of practising black magic since year 2000 when the state was formed.
