Hyderabad :  Telangana Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Thursday dissolved the state Assembly on a recommendation by the state cabinet.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao called on the Governor and presented the resolution of the Council of Ministers, recommending the dissolution of the first Legislative Assembly of Telangana state, said a statement from Raj Bhavan.

The Governor while accepting the recommendation requested Rao and his Council of Ministers to continue in office as caretaker government. Rao has agreed, added the statement.
