Suryakumar Yadav first Indian batter in 2022 to score 1000 T20I runs

Year 2022 has proved to be a good one for star India batsman Suryakumar Yadav. Surya has completed 1000 runs in T20I this year. He is the second batsman in the world to have made this record.

Infact, Surya has become the first Indian batsman to reach this milestone in 2022.

32-year-old Suryakumar Yadav smashed 61 runs in just 25 balls against Zimbabwe on Sunday (November 6). He made his fifty in just 23 balls.

Due to his stormy batting, India made a big score against Zimbabwe. The Indian team added 79 runs in the last five overs.

Zimbabwe which had to score 187 runs in 2o overs to win the match, got bundled out for 115 runs. They lost the match by a whopping 71 runs.

Surya has scored 1020 runs in 28 innings so far this year. His strike rate of 193.96 is also the highest in the history of T20 World Cup.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan had also completed 1000 runs in a calendar year. He had scored 1326 runs in 26 innings in 2021.
