Six new corona cases in Agra; tally up to 341
Agra: The district administration on Friday evening confirmed six new Covid-19 positive cases, taking Agra’s tally to 341.
From double, the figure now has come down to single digit as UP police have continued to strictly enforce lockdown restrictions in the 86 hotspot zones of the city.
According to the Agra zone police headquarters, around 4,000 cases have been registered against violators under IPC sections. Some six thousand people have been arrested in the districts of Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Etah, Kasganj, Hathras for violating lockdown restrictions.
In Agra 14 persons have been lodged in a temporary jail in the last two days.
District health department officials said round 1,229 people were under home quarantine.
Meanwhile, the state government has sent senior IAS official Alok Kumar as the nodal official to oversee and coordinate strategies being operationalised by various departments.
The locals have expressed deep resentment at the erratic supply of essentials and lack of emergency medical facilities.
A 65-year-old person died two days ago as no private or government hospital provided dialysis facility for him. Private medical practitioners out of fear have shut their clinics and nursing homes are not admitting patients.
