Shocking ! Teenage rape victim reaches police station with foetus in bag

In a shocking incident, a teenage girl along with her mother turned up at Hasanpur Kotwali police station in Amroha district in Uttar Pradesh carrying her aborted foetus in a bag. The girl had been allegedly raped by a 22-year old neighbour who she alleged had also forced her to abort the foetus.

The accused has been identified as Manoj who is absconding. The police have registered a case of rape against the accused and have launched a manhunt to nab him.

Hindustan Times quoted Circle Officer of Hasanpur, Ajay Kumar as saying, “We have registered a case on complaint of girl’s family and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. The foetus has been sent to forensic lab for examination.”

According to the daily, the girl told the police that the accused had raped her at gunpoint five months ago and had also threatened her of dire consequences. She kept mum following the threat but the situation worsened when she got pregnant. The accused also gave some medicine to the girl on July 13 to abort her pregnancy but her condition deteriorated.

Girl’s family came to know about the shocking incident on Friday after abortion. Her mother then took her to the police station on Saturday evening and lodged a complaint with the police, demanding for justice.
