New Delhi: The girl, whose father was stabbed to death on Saturday night when he objected to her harassment, on Tuesday claimed the entire locality was busy in making video of the incident and no one came to their help.
“Even after my repeated pleas for help, no one confronted the accused. The ‘eye-witnesses’ were busy making videos of the incident,” she said.
“I was pleading for help. But no one helped my father and brother. The accused had threatened that those who came to help them would also be thrashed,” she said.
On Saturday, the girl, her father and brother were returning from a hospital in west Delhi’s Basai Darapur. When they were near their home, four men allegedly passed lewd comments about the girl. That led to an argument between her father and brother, and the accused.
Thereafter, the accused allegedly attacked the father and son with a knife and stabbed them multiple times. While her father succumbed to injuries, her brother is in a critical condition in a hospital.
Some women members of the accused’s family handed them knife and provoked them to stab the victims, she alleged.
“No one is sharing those videos of the incident as the accused have threatened them of the consequences. The video could be crucial evidence against the accused,” the girl said.
Some neighbours regret that they could not help and because of which one life has been lost. “We wanted to help, but we all fear for our families. The accused have indulged in various crimes. A few days ago, they had thrashed a boy causing him serious injuries,” said a local resident.
