There was no exchange of sweets between Border Security Force (BSF) and the Pakistani rangers at Attari border on the occason of Eid on Saturday, reported Hindustan Times.

The development takes place amid tension between India and Pakistan after the ceasefire violations both at International Border and LoC.

The exchange of sweets between the Indian and Pakistani forces is a trend especially on occasions such as Diwali and Eid.

According to the sources, while the Pakistani rangers were interested in gifting Indian side with sweets, the BSF was not in a mood to carry out the tradition.

It was on June 13, four BSF troopers, including an Assistant Commandant, were martyred and three others injured in ceasefire violation by Pakistan Rangers on the international border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Assistant Commandant Jatinder Singh, Sub-Inspector Rajnish Kumar, ASI Ram Niwas and Constable Hans Raj were martyred in unprovoked shelling and firing by Pakistan Rangers targeting Baba Chamliyal outpost in the Ramgarh Sector.
