NIA seizes 4,000 kg gelatin explosives from Bokaro
New Delhi/Ranchi : Three days after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) seized a huge cache of arms from Jharkhand’s Bokaro, the agency on Friday said that it had seized 4,000 kg of gelatin explosives from the same area.
An agency spokesperson said in Delhi that “the gelatin explosives were seized on the disclosure of arrested Maoist Mahavir Manjhi alias Charlees, who is a zonal member in the Lugu Pahar area of Jharkhand’s Bokaro.”
The agency had on Tuesday seized 10 .303 rifles, one 9mm carbine, one 9mm Browning pistol, one DBBL gun, two SBBL guns, Rs three lakh, huge cache of ammunition, levy receipts and other incriminating material, from the same area following a tip-off by Manjhi during interrogation.
The Jharkhand Police had arrested 15 armed Maoist cadres, including functionaries of CPI-Maoist, from Dumri in Giridih and seized 12 weapons, including AK-47 assault rifles, Insas, SLR and .303 rifles.
It said 60 ATM cards, 199 letters of thanks issued by the Allahabad Bank for opening accounts and 1,125 Aadhaar cards were also recovered.
