MJ Akbar returns home, to issue statement on sexual misconduct allegations

Union Minister MJ Akbar who has been accused of sexual misconduct by several of his former colleagues, returned to country early on Sunday morning. He was on an official visit to Nigeria.

Akbar refrained from speaking on sexual misconduct allegations levelled against him but said that he would issue a statement on the matter later on, reported news agency ANI.

Akbar’s former colleagues have accused him of sexually abusing them when he was at senior editorial posts in different media organisations. Soon after these allegations, many in the opposition demanded minister’s resignation.
