Kiran Bedi trolled for congratulating Puducherrians for winning FIFA World Cup
France defeated Croatia 4-2 on Sunday night and lifted the FIFA World Cup 2018 bringing much joy to the countrymen and the football fans across the world. Soon after the victory the celebrations had begun on the streets of France.
While Puducherry too celebrated the victory with fans coming out on streets to celebrate, a tweet from Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi did not go well with Puducherrians and countrymen. Bedi wrote ‘We the Puducherrians (erstwhile French territory) won the World Cup. Congratulations Friends. What a mixed team-all French. Sports Unites.’

This message left the netizens annoyed and disturbed.
Puducherry which was known by the name Pondicherry then was a French colony and was merged into the Indian union in 1962.
