Senior Samajwadi Party leader and former UP Cabinet Minister Azam Khan on Sunday stoked a controversy after he launched an attack on the BJP over former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Asthi Kalash Yatra.

News agency ANI quoted Azam as saying, “If I somehow get to know that after death so much respect will be accorded to me then I would like to die today itself.”

The BJP decided to take out ‘Asthi Kalash’ Yatra across the country so that the citizens get a chance to offer their tributes to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Former PM died on August 16 at an age of 93 after battling prolonged illness.
