Ranchi : Convicted Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav returned to Ranchi on Monday evening as his three-day parole ended.
He was granted the parole to attend his eldest son Tej Pratap Yadav’s marriage in Patna.
Prasad was also granted six weeks’ provisional bail by the Jharkhand High Court on May 11 for medical treatment.
Sources close to Prasad said that the formalities for provisional bail would be completed on Tuesday upon which he would be able to visit Patna again.
Prasad was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi on March 17 following complaints of uneasiness when lodged at the Birsa Munda Jail, where he is serving a prison term since December 23, 2017 in connection with fodder scam cases.
He has been convicted in four fodder scam cases since 2013, the latest being the Dumka treasury case in which a special CBI court sentenced him to 14 years in jail.
