Kumaraswamy’s swearing-in as Karnataka CM postponed for May 23

HD Kumaraswamy heading the Congress-Janta Dal (Secular) coalition will be sworn-in as Karnataka CM on May 23. He will become Karnataka’s CM for second time.
Earlier, Kumaraswamy had to be sworn in as Karnataka’s Chief Minister on May 21. But swearing-in ceremony was postponed as it was coinciding with the death anniversary of former PM Rajiv Gandhi.
News Agency ANI quoted Kumaraswamy as saying, “We are going to take oath on Wednesday as Monday is Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary and so that is not a proper date”

Earlier, in the day Chief Minister Yeddyurappa resigned without facing the floor test in the Karnataka assembly as BJP fell short of numbers.
