Jharkhand gangrape case : Police arrest two accused, they confess forcing women to drink urine
More gory details into the horryifying gangrape incident reported from Jharkhand’s Khunti district are out. Five women working for an NGO were allegedly sexually assaulted by a group of men in Khunti district earlier this week. They were abducted while they were performing a street play in RC Mission School in Khunti’s Kochang village under Arki police station limits, some 90 km from Ranchi.
The shocking incident had happened on June 19 afternoon. The women who are in their twenties were abducted and taken to a nearby forest where they were raped.
The Jharkhand police which is investigating the crime, have arrested two of the six accused who confessed to raping the women, videographing the act and forcing victims to drink urine.
Hindustan Times quoted Additional Director General (Operations) RK Mallick as saying that the two arrested – Ajub Sandi and Ashish Longo, both residents of West Singhbhum district have confessed to raping the women, videographing the act and forcing them to drink urine.
The ADG during a press conference said that Sundi and Longo were identified by the survivors during the test identification parade. He said that the four other accused have also been identified and a search is on to nab them.
The police have also arrested a Christian priest Fr Alfanso Aien of RC Mission School as he had allegedly tried to hush up the crime and having links with perpetrators.
All the three were produced before a court and were sent to judicial custody.
The ADG said that the survivors had been given police protection and are being counselled for their speedy recovery.
