Ind-WI 2nd T20I: Windies level series with comprehensive win

West Indies on Sunday defeated India by eight wickets in second T20I match to level series 1-1. The match was played at Thiruvananthapuram.
India batting first had set a target of 171 runs for the West Indies which the guests managed to score easily and register victory in their name.
Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul could not impress with their bat and could score only 15 and 11 runs respectively. It was only Shivam Dube who could hit a half-century to take Indian side to a total of 170 runs for a fall of seven wickets.
Virat Kohli chipped in valuable 19 runs, while Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten on 33.
Kesrick Williams remained the most successful WI bowler who took two wickets for his team.
West Indies opening batsman Lendl Simmons put 67 runs on board to ensure his team’s win. He was supported well by Evin Lewis who was on the other end. Evin scored 40 runs.
Nicholas Pooran remained unbeaten at 38. Shimron Hetmyer also added valuable 23 runs to ensure team’s win.
In the bowling department, team India could not do wonders and expect Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja who claimed one wicket each, none could open their wicket account.
Yuzvendra Chahal was the most expensive bowler who gave away 36 runs in just three overs. Deepak Chahar also could not impress on the particular day and gave away 35 runs in 3.3 overs.
The series decider will be played on December 11 at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
